Cape Town – Springboks captain Siya Kolisi is optimistic about his recovery after undergoing knee surgery.
Kolisi sustained a partial tear of his anterior cruciate ligament and damaged his meniscus during a match against Munster while playing for the Sharks in the United Rugby Championship.
Despite facing tough and challenging days, Kolisi remains positive and focused on his rehabilitation.
He shared updates on his progress on Instagram, including videos of him cycling in the gym and spending time with his family.
“I’ve tried to let positivity drive me into putting in the work,” he posted.
“I am embracing the present and discovering joy in the small moments, even during these challenging times. Remember, everyone’s journey is unique and it’s important to honour your own pace.”

There are concerns that Kolisi may not be fully fit for the Rugby World Cup in September, and his absence would be a significant blow to the team.
SA Rugby director Rassie Erasmus has expressed hope that Kolisi would recover in time and mentioned the possibility of him featuring in one of the warm-up games leading up to the World Cup.
