Cape Town – South African DJ Uncle Waffles, real name Lungelihle Zwane, has officially started her BBC 1 residency, and many have admitted hearing her voice for the very first time.
Uncle Waffles announced recently that she had joined BBC Radio 1’s Residency as cohost for September, sharing one of South Africa’s trending genre, amapiano, with the world.
The 22-year-old is cohost alongside Ahadadream in a show that airs every Thursday night at 23:00 UK time.
She recently shared a link of the show on her Twitter timeline.

BBC Radio 1 also tagged the DJ, sharing a video of her second show where many congratulated her on her new gig while others confessed to have heard the DJ’s voice for the first time.
