Cape Town – The family of the late South African rapper, Riky Rick, friends and industry colleagues came together to celebrate the life of the award-winning rapper last month.
Riky Rick, whose real name was Rikhado Makhado, died on February 23 after committing suicide.
He would have turned 35 on July 20.
On the day, fans, music industry friends, and giants lit up social media, wishing the Sondela hitmaker a heavenly birthday.
Riky’s mother, his wife Bianca, their children, and industry friends reflected on the good times they had shared with him during an intimate dinner hosted at the Tang.

The atmosphere was heavenly-like, with white flowers filling the venue and Riky’s black and white pictures beautifully placed around the venue.
According to TshisaLIVE Legend Barbershop group’s Waterfall Corner branch also relaunched its store on the rapper’s birthday and offered 35 complimentary haircuts in exchange for winter supplies to donate to an orphanage.
Riky was a franchise owner of the store.
“This means a lot to our family because the barbershop was one of Riky’s proudest achievements. Reopening on his birthday made it more special because it was our way of honouring him. It was important for us because Riky was always about giving back. It is a way of us carrying forward his memory,” the report quoted Riky’s wife, Bianca.
