Cape Town – Former Generations actor Patrick Shai recently set Twitter abuzz after he, out of the blue, verbally attacked rapper Cassper Nyovest and hurled insults at his mother.
Patrick recently posted and then removed a promotional video in which he challenged Cassper to a boxing match.
“Before I die I want to make sure that I’ve beaten you [Cassper] so that on my tombstone they can write this is the man who beat Caster or Costa or whatever your sh*t name is … Come you son of a b*tch,” he said as he spoke in Sesotho.

Patrick’s choice of words did not sit well with Cassper.
He responded by saying: “Who the f*ck is that old man and why is he calling my mom a b*tch? Why does my family have to be disrespected like this yo? F*ck this is too much now!!! Modimo nna ha ke sa kgona, ke kopa thuso.”

Patrick received a lot of backlash from the Phuma Kimi hitmaker’s fans.
As a result, he retracted the distasteful video and apologised to both Cassper and South Africans, saying that he should’ve known better.
“I should have known better as an adult. My apologies, I humbly, humbly from the bottom of my heart, apologise for having used such strong language towards your mom. Even though the challenge would’ve been an ideal thing, now it has been soured by what I said. I apologise from the bottom of my heart, please forgive me and forgive me South Africans. I am regretting every bit of the last sentence that I used, I’m sorry,” said Patrick in a video.

The actors’ apology however, seemed to have fallen on deaf ears, as Cassper responded by somewhat labelling him as a “clout chaser”.
“These are some weird times yo. When everyone runs of out of ideas to trend they just think “Cassper Nyovest,” wrote Cassper in a tweet.
