Cape Town – DJ Fresh has said that controversial poet Ntsiki Mazwai and media personality Penny Lebyane have paid up for defaming him in 2019.
The DJ revealed that the duo paid R280 000 for defamation during his interview on the Podcast and Chill.
He shared the latest on his defamation case after he claimed that Ntsiki shared some “unsubstantiated” claims against him back in 2019 when she called him a rapist.
The courts ruled against the controversial poet and she was sentenced to pay R200 000 in legal expenses.
Fresh said although both, Mazwai and Lebyane had made the payments, he had made no financial gain in the process.
“Well, they lost in court, Ntsiki has finally paid up… She paid my lawyers not me, it is not like I made money,” he said.

Mazwai has expressed her thoughts on the judgment in tweets, claiming that her defeat was evidence of a flawed legal system.
“The court system was exposed to me when drug addicts who lied won cases…..and I was like. Oh okay.” read one of her tweets.
For the record…I have never been sued for a lie. I have been sued for publishing a list that was already online….which is what makes my case so damn interesting. That I got sued for what YOU were saying. Lol.

According to The Citizen, DJ Fresh took legal action when Ntsiki was among the people who accused him of rape in light of the “me too” movement.
The report said that the verdict ruled against Ntsiki and was ordered to pay R200 000 for legal fees incurred by DJ Fresh.
Ntsiki was among the scores of people who republished the allegations, however, she was one of the few people the DJ took legal action against, the report said.
