Cape Town – Despite suffering a fractured cheekbone during the match against the All Blacks, Springboks captain Siya Kolisi took time to greet and hug fans at Ellis Park.
This gesture followed his emotional speech on celebrating democracy and recognising those still not fully free, especially addressing issues like Gender-Based Violence.
Kolisi’s team won a close 31-27 match against New Zealand.
Despite his injury from a high tackle by All Blacks captain Sam Cane, Kolisi spent several minutes interacting with fans, showcasing his humility and dedication.
In his speech, Kolisi highlighted the importance of representing all South Africans and urged fans to continue supporting the team through tough times.
