Cape Town – South African music star Nadia Nakai has returned to the studio to start making music again, nearly three months after her boyfriend AKA was shot dead in Durban.
Nadia has been going through a difficult time since AKA’s passing away. She has had to endure lots of media speculation surrounding the circumstances of the rapper’s death.
However, the love and support that she’s received from the Forbes family has been incredible in the subsequent months.
She took to Instagram to announce that she’s back in the studio again to start making music and posted a video of her recording a verse for what looks like an upcoming song.
In the song, she sings a line: “We do this for Mega.”
“Back in my bag ??? Studio Kamp ? @_different.perspective,” she captioned the post.

Nadia made a return to music in March when she performed at a club in Bryanston. She was supported by AKA’s dad, Tony Forbes, who attended the event and had received a beautiful message of support from Lynn Forbes, AKA’s mother.
The Forbes family have been great to the loved ones AKA left behind as Nadia and DJ Zinhle, Kairo’s mother, were recently seen with the family on a day out.
Nadia said: ““What is Collateral Beauty? The very idea of collateral beauty is that no matter how dark or how difficult the time is, there is something beautiful that is happening right there. You just have to look. ❤️”
