Cape Town – Acclaimed Ghamama hitmaker Makhadzi arrived at the OR Tambo International Airport on Sunday and was greeted with a heartfelt reception from adoring fans and family, following her stellar night at the BET Awards.
While no stranger to international travel, Makhadzi’s recent journey to Los Angeles was particularly unforgettable, as she clinched the crown of Viewers Choice Best International Act, at the BET Award Show.
Back on South African soil, the scene was nothing short of heart-warming as masses of supporters, along with her family and parents Thomas Ralivhona and Azwihangwisi Munyai, gathered to welcome the superstar home.
The air was filled with ululations, songs of praise, and an outpouring of love as Makhadzi emerged through the airport doors.

In December last year, Sunday World reported that the songstress allegedly owed the South African Revenue Service (SARS) a staggering R6.6m, which was later negotiated down to R2.7m, thanks to a savvy tax consultant.
In recent news, according to TimesLive, Makhadzi seconded the report confirming her ongoing battle with financial woes.
Despite these setbacks, however, Makhadzi remains determined to maintain her superstar status.
“I’m going through a lot. It’s not a secret. Every money I get monthly I’m paying SARS so I end up not having money for myself,”
“So for me to travel I have to go to mashonisa [loan sharks]. They [my team] have to borrow money for me so I can fly business class because I have to be the superstar that I am. Because I believe in myself and my career I’m like, let me do everything and go there” they reported her saying.
