Cape Town — South African comedy icon, Trevor Noah, was announced as the host of the Grammy Awards for a fifth consecutive year.
Trevor has established himself as one of the most renowned comedians globally and his international success has led to many great opportunities for him. With his fifth selection as Grammy host, he became the first African and first comedian to host the award show more than once, The South African reported.
The biggest music awards take place on Sunday, 2 February.
Trevor was first announced as the host of the Grammts in 2021 and his success on the night has resulted in him being invited back as host every year.
Trevor Noah joins the likes of fellow comedians James Corden, Rosie O’Donnell, Elen DeGeneres, and Whoopi Goldberg, who have all hosted the show. He is also one of the few to have hosted the event more than once.
He joins the late singer Andy Williams, who hosted seven times, and fellow artists John Denver and LL Cool J, who hosted six and five times respectively.
