Cape Town – South Africans are in for a great treat, as American film star Tom Cruise is said to be heading to our shores for a film production.
According to reports, the film giant will reprise his role as Agent Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible 7 and Mission: Impossible 8 which is said to be written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie.
Tzaneen newspaper Letaba Herald reports that airplanes that will be used by Tom in the shooting of the movie were spotted in Hoedspruit where the shooting will take place near Limpopo.
He is said to also be heading to Cape Town and Durban to shoot more scenes.

According to IOL, CEO of Wesgro,Wrenelle Stander, said they were delighted to invite international filmmakers in Cape Town and that such productions were on the cards for the province but that they could not comment due to privacy agreements.
“The Western Cape is an inspiring place to create, and we invite filmmakers from around the globe to come to our diverse region and engage our local creative industry,” quoted the publication.
The actor has been playing the role of Ethan Hunt for more than two decades when Mission: Impossible was first released back in 1996.
According to Variety it was earlier announced that the production company for the two films was postponing the release date citing delays due to the ongoing pandemic.
Mission: Impossible 7 which was previously supposed to premiere on September 30, will now debut on July 14, 2023.
Mission: Impossible 8 will open on June 28, 2024 instead of its previously announced debut of July 7, 2023 reported the publication.
