Cape Town — South African media personality Thuli Phongolo was involved in a high-profile allegation case against her partner, DJ Maphorisa, which she later withdrew.
The incident occurred when Phongolo and Mpahorisa were scheduled to perform on a night out together in early May when Maphorisa had allegedly assaulted her. She said he became aggressive when he confronted her.
“He held me and took me to the balcony, and grabbed me aggressively by my neck,” she was reported as saying at the time.
The pair later released a joint statement in which they confirmed an “incident” did indeed occur on May 7 and asked for privacy as they returned to their respective fields of work, IOL reported.

Before the incident took place, the former “Generations” actress had teased that she was working on her own music.
It appears as if Phongolo has made a return to work and IOL posted a screenshot of her Instagram story showing that she’s back in the studio.
The teaser has had fans ready for whatever she is working on.
But she said: “Guys, it’s barely a full verse or even a full line… but y’all are replying to my last snap like ‘release release release!!!’ Release what? Hayi kdwa guys!”
It remains to be seen whether Phongolo will release something soon.
Fans are just excited to see what she has lined up.
