Cape Town – House of Zwide‘s much-loved actor, Khaya Dladla took to Instagram during the week to share a video clip of his ailing mother recuperating well after she suffered a stroke that left her unable to walk and took away her speech.
In a lengthy heartfelt letter, Khaya spoke about how his loss when his uncle died had affected him and his mother who suffered the stroke on the same day of his death.
He said that he and his family were left to fend for themselves as those that they thought were “real friends and family” went MIA (Missing In Action).
Khaya is often a private person but he said he felt that he needed to share his story to inspire those who might be going through adversity.

“A lot of people don’t know much about my personal life. I lost my dad doing my final year in varsity and I was left with just this woman who gave me life,” wrote Khaya.
“Last year this time I lost my uncle and on the same day my mom was attacked by a stroke that took her speech away and mobility (couldn’t talk or walk) and I was willing to do and pay any amount to see her gain her normal life again,” he said.
Khaya said they were broken with the streak of adversity and no-one reached out.
“That’s when my real family and friends showed who they were because people will never care for you or your loved ones more than you,” laments Khaya.
Khaya advised his followers to stay strong in prayer and believe that “this too shall pass”.
“To you going through the same thing or any other difficulties in life. Remember that God is there and this too shall pass,” he said.
