Cape Town – Katlego Maboe’s stock continues to rise since he made his return to the big screen after he was announced as the host of the Metro FM Music Awards.
The award show takes place on 6 May at Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga.
SA’s top artists will compete to win big prizes such as Artist of the Year and Song of the Year.
Katlego is set to host alongside Lerato Kganyago.
He said hosting the awards is one of the best achievements in his illustrious career.
“Firstly – GOD IS GOOD! I’m thrilled to co-host the #MMA23 on May 6th alongside the sensational @Leratokganyag aka LKG! Let’s celebrate the best of SA music at the biggest event of the year,” he said.

“Music is quite a big part of my life, it’s through music that I found myself on television and entertainment at large. This is probably one of the biggest gigs I have bagged in my career. I am absolutely honoured and very excited, this is a huge gig,” he told TshisaLIVE.
Katlego said he and his team have been working hard and discussing ideas ahead of the big star-studded event.
“I have been doing this for quite some time and it’s something I believe is part of my DNA of who I am. Every single award show you present or any show, you approach with reverence,” the report quoted him as saying.
Katlego’s comeback following controversies of a few years ago seems to be behind him as he’s landed some prestigious hosting roles, including a return to Expresso and hosting a new show, Deal or No Deal SA.
