Cape Town – South African DJ Prince Kaybee has slammed haters of current SA music hotshot Uncle Waffles and her team.
Uncle Waffles’ rise to success has been phenomenal since the release of her debut album in 2022. She has released a second album and has performed at Coachella this year, rubbing shoulders and receiving praise from international stars such as Drake, Kehlani and Ciara.
Fans praised Uncle Waffles after she posted a TikTok of her and Ciara dancing. Prince Kaybee was quick to respond to the video, reminding fans of the hate they gave her early in her career.
“I remember a discourse dictum stocking up that there’s too many men managing her, the hate was appalling beyond comprehension. What a successful career these men have curated,” he said.

TimesLIVE reported that Waffles, at the time, was determined to set the record straight on the comments about her relationship with her team.
“I’d just like to say, my team is the biggest blessing in my life when it comes to my career. They go above and beyond for me, the narrative that’s being shared is disheartening. They have never made me feel uncomfortable or treated me inappropriately.”
She also revealed that she no longer handles her social media because of the backlash she faced at the time.
