Cape Town – The Daily Show with Trevor Noah has received seven Emmy nominations, including one for the Outstanding Variety Talk Series.
The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced on Tuesday, with the late-night series and its spin-offs receiving seven nominations.
These were the most nominations for The Daily Show at one time since Noah took over from Jon Stewart in 2015.
“I’m so thrilled for everyone on The Daily Show team and incredibly lucky to be part of a place where we can laugh, cry, debate and create together to bring some perspective and humour to this hectic world,” Deadline quoted showrunner, executive producer and writer Jen Flanz as saying.
The Daily Show’s nominations included: Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming, Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video Control For A Series, and Outstanding Writing for A Variety Series.
Trevor took to Twitter to celebrate and to express gratitude to his team and supporters.
