Cape Town – South African actor Bongani Gumede recently graduated with a Postgraduate Diploma in Arts from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in Gauteng.
Bongani took to Instagram to share photos from his graduation day, saying that talent should be combined with education.
According to Channel24, the actor is best known for his hotheaded, gun-toting character Mandla Ndlovu in the now-defunct Mzansi Magic telenovela Isibaya.
“Talent should be coupled with education,” wrote Bongani in an Instagram post.

Wits shared a video of Bongani on Twitter, as he expressed his thoughts on the importance of education.
Speaking in isiZulu Bongani said: “Education is important in life and it’s important to study. IsiZulu says we learn until we die.

“This means that talent alone is not enough. This is why it is important to study and back talent with education. This will also allow us to reclaim and return to our roots while we have the backing of formal education”.
