Cape Town – Award-winning choreographer and Idols SA judge, Somizi Mhlongo says he remains innocent until proven guilty regarding his estranged husband’s allegations of gender-based violence (GBV) against him.
Mohale claimed that Somizi broke his ribs and nearly knocked out his two teeth in a jealously-fueled domestic dispute in their Joburg home last year.
During a press briefing that was held on Wednesday by the Idols SA‘s executive to reveal the show’s season 18 new judges, a question was posed to Somizi regarding the matter.
“Honestly, if you may have noticed, I’ve never spoken about anything and I believe my private life is my private life and my work life is my work life, so I’m still staying there.

“I feel like I can’t say anything at the moment and I don’t want to say anything at the moment with regard to that. All I can tell you is it was one of the toughest times of my life and my career but we move forward and like we say: ‘Innocent until proven guilty,” TshisaLive quoted Somizi as saying.
Somizi’s remarks came a few days after Mohale opened up about life after his separation from his famous husband
He said that he had to remember who he was prior to their highly publicised relationship.
“I just said to myself, I’m not going to beat myself up for something that has happened. At the end of the day, I’m an adult. I can’t sit around and want to sob the whole time. I had to gather myself, and say if I was not in that relationship before, what would I be doing?” TshisLive quoted him saying in another report.
He continued: “I had to remember that everything that has happened is not because of anyone’s doing. It’s mostly because things happen and it’s life.”
The divorce of the pair remains a closely guarded secret as it’s not known yet to the public if it has been eventually finalised or not.
