Cape Town – Critically-acclaimed international artist, Somi Kakoma, landed in South Africa recently to perform her much-eagerly awaited new album Zenzile: The Reimagination of Miriam Makeba at The State Theatre in Pretoria on Sunday, March 27.
According to GQ, Somi launched her new album on March 04 – which would have been Miriam Makeba’s 90th birthday celebration.
“This album is my attempt to honour the unapologetic voice of an African woman who inevitably made room for my own journey and countless other African artists. In short, I owe her. We all do,” GQ quoted Somi as saying.
