Former president Jacob Zuma’s spokesperson and ATM party leader, Mzwanele Manyi took to Twitter to reveal the news.
“BREAKING NEWS The one and only @kuliroberts has joined the winning team. Servant Kuli has signed up to serve the people of South Africa. Servant Kuli is ATM Councillor Candidate for Ward 65 in Tshwane. We wish her well,” he wrote.

Roberts confirmed the news and said she has been involved in politics for decades.
“Well I’ve been at it for decades. We need to do better and there are many of us. Instead of burning the Schools, lets extend them. I’m all about living in a safe area where they know how to install water meters and don’t estimate electricity usage or claim to have undercharged,” she wrote.

Speaking with Mac G a few days ago on Podcast and Chill with Mac G, Roberts said she volunteered her services in the African National Congress (ANC) after finishing varsity.
“When I finished varsity, two weeks after graduating I went straight to the ANC offices and said I’ve had a privileged life, I’ve been to private schools [and] I’m here to give back. And then eventually they gave me a position as a volunteer,” she said.
Social media reacted to the news of her venture into politics.
