Cape Town – South African businesswoman and socialite Shauwn ‘MaMkhize’ has raised eyebrows after she called former health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize her father.
MaMkhize took to Instagram to share a picture of herself posing alongside Dr Mkhize and his son Dedani Mkhize.
In the caption, she said that she was happy to have taken responsibility to mend the feud between Dr Mkhize and his son.
“As a big sister, I took it upon myself to come and play my role to unite the family ahead of this weekends festivities. It broke my heart to see my dear father Dr Zweli Mkhize and my little brother Dedani at odds with each other, but today we have defied the odds and proved that blood really is thicker then water,” wrote MaMkhize in an Instagram post.

According to The Citizen, MaMkhize and Zweli Mkhize shared the same surname, but he was not her father.
MaMkhize was the daughter of the late Sipho and Florence Mkhize, who were ANC activists during the apartheid era.
Tweeps reacted to MaMkhize’s post, with many wondering if the two were related.
Take a look at some of the Twitter reactions to MaMkhize calling Dr Mkhize her father below:

Well at times in african circle we use these words loosely eg Ubaba/Ntate/Rre could be used to show gore we r simply related, or show respect, etc which could be the case here..but not necessarily to say ke biological father?♀️ but they must be related cause wow
