Cape Town – South African singer and songwriter Amanda Benedicta Antony, better known as Amanda Black, has taken to social media to urge political parties to follow Covid-19 regulations while campaigning for local municipal elections.
The songstress came across a video clip posted on social media by Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Member of Parliament Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, in which the opposition party was running a political campaign at Nelson Mandela University in Gqeberha.

The attendees of the event did not appear to be wearing protective gear, and as a result, Amanda took to social media to address the situation.
“Please can you help the citizens of this country fight against another lockdown and claims of a fourth wave looming. Vaccine passports and mandates because numbers are down, people’s livelihoods still in the red. Clearly there are no longer fears of covid spreading anymore,” she wrote in a tweet.

When it comes to expressing her political views, the Amazulu hitmaker isn’t the one to hold back.
In another tweet, she wrote: “They say a fourth wave is looming when numbers are down. Rallies are full, people’s livelihoods are still in the red. They are promoting and enforcing vaccine mandates and passports. As seen below they don’t seem to be worried about the spreading of covid during elections.”
