Cape Town – South African award-winning musician Simphiwe Dana has expressed her gratitude to her social media fans for helping her spread the word about her missing car which was later found.
Dana recently took to Twitter to share the heartbreaking news that her black Chevrolet SUV had been stolen.
“My car just got stolen about 3 hours ago at a Panelbeater’s by one of their employees. Registration FR77KR GP,” she wrote in a Twitter post.

In a subsequent tweet, the singer claimed that her car was stolen by two employees of the panel beaters shop where she was at.
She shared their photos on social media.
“If you know these people please DM or call the police anonymously. Their names are Andre Machava and Den Machava,” she wrote.
Dana also called out her car’s tracking device company saying that they were doing a ‘dismissal’ job in responding to her.
“Dear @CartrackZA your responses to this are really dismal. I shouldn’t have to come to social media,” she wrote.

Responding to Simphiwe’s tweet, the tracking company said: “Good evening, please be advised that a consultant will contact you to assist with your query. ^KM.”

Hours later, Dana took to Twitter to share some good news, saying that her car had been found.
“Good news! My car has been found. The tracker miraculously started working after it seemed it was disabled. Now to figure out what really happened. Intriguing,” she wrote.

The Ndiredi hitmaker, also took time to show some gratitude to her fans who supported her during her bad experience.
“I believe it was the power of social media that scared the thieves into abandoning my car. When their names and faces were everywhere, maybe they freaked out. So thank you for spreading the word. Nangamso,” Dana wrote.
