Cape Town – Uncle Waffles stunned her fans back in SA by performing a set at an afterparty following the renowned Met Gala in New York.
Uncle Waffles rubbed shoulders with some of the biggest A-listers at the party, TimesLIVE said.
The Met Gala, held every year at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, is one of the foremost events on the celebrity circuit and is usually followed by a stream of afterparties hosted by the likes of Janelle Monae, Sean Combs and Doja Cat.
The South African DJ took to Instagram to post some pictures and videos of the afterparty, and was seen posing with supermodel Naomi Campbell and fellow African superstar Ayra Starr. She wrote: “Met after the gala”

Another African artist Major League DJz also posted images from a Met afterparty alongside famous musicians such as Burna Boy, Michaela Coel and British grime rapper Stormzy.
With the amapiano genre having become popular beyond the borders of Mzansi, we’ve seen South Africa talent getting more recognition abroad.
“I think the genre outside South Africa, [amapiano] falls under Afrobeats a lot, so a lot of people are playing into the diaspora market. Diaspora is people that live in New York or America who are from Africa and those are the people growing the sound.”
“THE AFTER AFTER PARTY…. THE MET GALA WAY ????❤️,” he said.
