Cape Town – South Africa’s very own amapiano sensation Nkosazana Daughter has sent social media into a frenzy, after stepping out in MSCHF’s coveted Big Red Boots, based with a price-tag that’s bound to make jaws drop.

Upon its initial posting, Mzansi quickly switched to fashion-critic mode in the comment section — some were in awe of her daring fashion choices, while others couldn’t help but roast the footwear that stole the spotlight.
Here’s a glimpse into the diverse reactions:
@jamierncbe: “Shes wearing a plunger..😂😂😂”
@durbanmaclean: “having too much money will make u buy stuff u don’t really like’ 😂😂”
@molinechamwarira: “The shoe is shoesing😂”

South African celebs vs South African designers
According to The South African, these boots come with a hefty price of R16 000, sparking a debate where many local designers criticise South African celebrities for their lavish spending on brands they show little loyalty to.
Earlier this year, acclaimed South African designer David Tlale brought this to the forefront in an interview he did with Podcast and Chill.
David voiced his frustration, describing local celebrities as unwilling to support local designers financially, whilst freely promoting international luxury brands.
“They give free PR to brands who don’t give a hoot about who they are,” he said.
Nkosazana Daughter is just one in a line of many celebrities who have opted to splurge on international brands despite this criticism.
