Cape Town — South African actress Pearl Thusi shared a snap of her daughter’s shopping list and it had Mzansi cracking up at her daughter’s handwriting.
Pearl is the mother to two children. Her 16 year-old daughter, Thando Mokena, and her adopted 6-year old daughter, Okuhlekonke Thusi. Four years ago, Pearl adopted Okuhlekonke and many South Africans wished her well on her new foster parent journey, The South African reported.
She took to Instagram and uploaded a picture of a shopping list her adopted daughter drew up. It was filled with standard household necessities riddled with spelling mistakes.
“A grocery list by @okuhle.konke 🤍What did she forget on the list?. She was writing her nanny’s list for her. So this is actually for the nanny,” Pearl captioned the post.

The list included Colgat (Colgate), nodols (noodles), Rashen-sosigis (russian sausages), jus (juice), qork (pork) and poteto (potatoes).
The spelling errors were met with kindness and many of Pearl’s friends took to the comments to find the lighter side of things.
“RASHEN & SOSIGIS finished me😭,” Ntando Duma wrote.
“Friend. Where do y’all buy Rashen-sosigis?!😂,” DJ Zinhle said.
“Yoh don’t see Okuhle wena 😌 this list understandable. Maybe dussy bin plestiks, kheri poudah?,” Amanda Du Pont commented.
According to The Citizen, it was clear that Okuhlekonke could read and write but she was struggling with some of her letters and the way to write them properly. A Junior Primary Curriculum specialist pointed that out.
“Amazing. She definitely can read. She however only confuses some letters..And Ishe can also sound ..That’s my evaluation as a Junior Primary Curriculum specialist.”
