Cape Town – Despite battling lung cancer, beloved South African radio personality, Mark Pilgrim has always kept a smile on his face.
The seasoned broadcaster broke the news to his followers last year that after 33 years of his cancer being in remission, he had been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer.
Since then, he has bravely documented his journey on social media to raise awareness while keeping a positive attitude.
On New Year’s Eve, after spending 64 days in hospital following seven procedures and losing almost 15kgs, the radio DJ proposed to his partner, Adrienne Watkins at their home.
In a recent Instagram post, the radio veteran lets his followers and fans in on the unpleasant side of his battle.

Last week, in two separate posts, he revealed that he received immunotherapy treatment and blood.
“Treatment continues. Receiving my next dose of immunotherapy. Healing.” he wrote in one of the Instagram posts.
