Cape Town — South African superfan and Royal AM supporter, Joy Chauke (better known as Mama Joy) was devastated to find out that the club she supports was set to be sold.
It is believed that Royal AM was expected to reach an agreement with the South African Revenue Services (SARS) regarding the potential sale of the club. SARS were determined to retrieve R40 million in tax debt linked to club owner and president, Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize, SABC Sport reported.
SARS have been given permission by the court to sell Royal AM for a figure in the region of R15 million.

One fan particularly disappointed by the news of Royal AM’s sale is Mama Joy. She took to X and expressed her sadness over the sale, and showed love to her friend, MaMkhize.
“My Children knows where we come from and they know this is just 1 of the seoson ,,,, with I don’t have any fear that maybe 1 day they will leave me ,,,, together forever ,,, life goes on guys ,,, but I still respect and love U Ma, Thanks Mamkhize Thwihli,” she wrote.
According to The South African, fans are now wondering where Mama Joy’s allegiances will now lie as she was previously a big supporter of Soweto giants, Orlando Pirates.
