This is not the first time Jurgen Klopp has made his way to South Africa, and he is, in fact, a frequent visitor, with this marking his thrid visit to the rainbow nation and the Mother City.
In 2017, he visited local football club Hout Bay United FC as an ambassador for a local charity, Joy is Round, where he donated R180 000 to the Hout Bay United Football Community initiative, The South African reported.
He was back in Cape Town in 2019 on vacation, where he met up with Spirngboks captain and Liverpool fan Siya Kolisi for a dinner in Caps Bay. The relationship between Siya and Klopp has remained strong, with Klopp revealing in an Adidas campaign that he now supports South Africa’s rugby team because of Siya.
However, it appears Jurgen’s trip to Cape Town this time is for another event with the Joy is Round charity. Hout Bay United FC revealed on Instagram that Klopp would be attending the event scheduled for 6 March 2025
“Join us for a celebratory evening with our good friend @kloppo as we discuss how football can be used to change lives,” it said.
