Cape Town – Multiple award-winning radio station, Umhlobo Wenene, has released its new line-up of presenters, as it gears up for the new radio season in South Africa, which kicks off on April 1.
April 1 sees radio stations all over South Africa restructuring their presenter line-up for fresh content and to garner and retain more and current listeners.
Seasoned broadcaster Siphiwo “Spitch” Nzawumbi has made a comeback to the station after taking a two-year hiatus from broadcasting.
According to IOL, Spitch previously hosted the lunch-time slot on the station for “three successive years before his exit two years ago”.

“When I left the station, I was intentional about what I wanted to achieve. I believe broadcasters should be experienced and skilled in other things aside from their craft. This enables us to engage audiences and experts from an informed perspective but not only that but from experience. My two year hiatus has been about exactly that,” the report quoted Spitch as saying.
In a statement issued by the public broadcaster, SABC, the station’s Business Manager, Loyiso Bala said that the radio station “is a household brand in our country, particularly in the Eastern and Western Cape.
“The new line-up ensures that the station remains relevant to its diverse audiences, while also keeping it at the forefront of innovative programming”.
Spitch will be part of the weekend line-up hosting the breakfast show, Vuka Mzantsi, alongside former Scandal! actress Lusanda Mbane.
