Cape Town – South African rapper Emtee has made a bold claim saying one day his legacy will surpass that of former rapper AKA but many feel he still has a long way to match Supa Mega.
There is no doubting Emtee’s talent and potential in the industry. The rapper is one of the best in the country, with many saying he will be the next biggest name in SA hip-hop.
In terms of legacy, he still lags behind AKA, Cassper Nyovest and Nasty C, who all won big awards locally and have also worked with many international artists.
However, his ambition cannot be faulted and he’s aiming high in terms of where he’d like to be one day. Fans took to commenting on his Twitter feed to show him support, with some saying he’s already made it big.
“One day I’ll be as big as AKA,” he said on Twitter.

According to The South African, AKA was one of the most decorated artists at the time of his death aged 35 – he won more than 20 awards in his short career – and he had several hits that Mzansi loved. AKA’s latest album Mass Country picked up multiple awards after his death earlier in 2023.
While Emtee is still in the fledgling stage of his own career, he has accumulated a number of awards already.
Only 3o years old, he has eight awards under his belt.
