Cape Town – The South African arts and entertainment industry has once again lost another talent in actress Nokuzola Mlengana, 58, after she passed away on Monday.
Mlengana was well known for her role as Sis Ouma in one of the country’s famous soapies, Skeem Saam.
Her death was confirmed in a Facebook post by the show.
She was also in a number of other local dramas and TV adverts.
“She was introduced to Skeem Saam fans a few years ago as the feisty and nosy security guard at Gauteng University when the soapie added Johannesburg as a location in its storyline,” EWN reported.
Her death comes less than a year after her on-screen husband, Ramolao played by Thema Mokoena’s death.
The actress lived in Lyndhurst, Johannesburg, at the time of her passing and was a fan of keeping fit, according to The Citizen.
Tributes poured in for the actress on social media.
