Cape Town – Renowned South African actress, Franci Swanepoel has died at the age of 50.
According to reports, Franci passed away in her sleep on Saturday night and was found on Sunday morning.
Swanepoel was best known for her role as Toeks Joubert on the M-Net soapie Binneland which she played since 2005. She also played the role of Laetitia on the television series, Getroud Met Rugby.
She was nominated for the Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series award in 2015 as well as the Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series in 2018.

Tributes for the late actress poured in on social media.
Actor, Adriaan Marais thanked her for the love she had shown him over the years.
“I have no words.
“Dearest Franci Swanepoel you have gained your angel wings. Who is going to listen to all the bike talks with me now.”I learned so much from you as an actor and as a person. I’m going to miss you incredibly friend, all those nice chats, laughs and cries, today my tears are for you. Thank you for all the faith and love you have shown me over the years,” Marais said.
“Actress and GMR dialogue coach, Franci Swanepoel, passed away in her sleep on Saturday night. We are just speechless. Good luck to all her loved ones.
“Rest in peace dearest Franci, we will miss you,” Getroud Met Rugby posted on its Facebook page.
