Cape Town — Two-time World Cup winner, Makazole Mapimpi, is set to become the latest Springbok player to become a father as his wife is due to give birth any day.
Springbok coach, Rassie Erasmus, revealed that Mapimpi would miss the crucial Rugby Championship clash between South Africa and New Zealand at Cape Town Stadium as his wife is pregnant and will give birth soon.
“Mapimpi’s wife is giving birth, we don’t want to keep him away from that,” Rassie said cheekily during his press conference.
The unity and humanity in the Springboks team 🙌

Mapimpi joins an ever-growing list of Springboks who have become first-time fathers including Handre Pollard, Eben Etzebeth and Faf de Klerk.
Many X users were not only surprised to discover that Mapimpi had a baby on the way, but that he was married in the first place. According to Mapimpi’s Instagram page, he rarely posts pictures of anyone else but himself looking stylish.
While some were excited for the Springbok ace, many women, who had touted Mapimpi as the Springbok’s most eligible bachelor, let their feelings be known.
