Cape Town – South African actor Dumisani Dlamini doesn’t shy away from admiring his American rapper daughter, Zandile Dlamini popular known as Doja Cat despite being trolled by social media users the last time he did so.
The Sarafina star was chastised early this year when he took to Instagram to congratulate his daughter on her Grammy win.
Dumisani boasted about his daughter’s achievement, thanking Doja Cat’s fans for supporting her.
But Social media users didn’t think he deserved the bragging rights, calling him a “deadbeat father” and other ugly names.
Recently he shared a video of his daughter talking about him during a radio interview back in 2019 and he asked his followers to tell him something about the video.

Some asked him to make an effort to meet his daughter but one troller wrote: “You can run to the edge of the world 3 women and had 30 children while Deborah was struggling to pay her rent with your own children. You aren’t fooling anyone.”
Dumisani clapped back saying he was in New York with his “baby”.
“Take your medication and relax I’m in New York with my baby”
In the interview, Doja Cat talks about her father who couldn’t take her to the fair, and the presenter chips in saying: “but he was a producer?” to which the rapper, confuses her father to be a dancer saying: “Ohh no he was a dancer, my brother was a producer, my dad is a dancer.”
She is corrected when the presenter shows her a cassette that her father produced.
“I didn’t know that, that is crazy,” she reacts, as she laughs.
Dumisani explained earlier this year why he never met his daughter, saying that after the Sarafina tour wrapped up in the United States, he decided to stay there for a while.
During his stay, he fell in love with a Jewish-American woman called Deborah Elizabeth Sawyer with whom he had two kids – a son and a daughter who is now known as Doja Cat, according to Tshisa Live.
After being in The United States for more than 15 years, Dumisani said he became very homesick and took a decision to come back to South Africa with a plan of eventually bringing his family to South Africa as well.
But that plan didn’t materialise.
