Cape Town — SA rapper Da LES, whose real name is Lesly Mampe, has found himself in the hospital after suffering a stroke on an unexpectedly poignant day — his 39th birthday.
A statement issued by the Mampe family’s PR team on Sunday revealed that Da LES suffered a stroke on Friday, July 26.
According to The South African, this had occurred at his Bryanston residence, which is known for hosting his annual star-studded All White Pool parties.
“The family of renowned South African musician Da LES is deeply saddened to inform the public that he suffered a stroke at home on Friday, 26 July 2024 and has been hospitalised,” the statement read.
“Whilst he is in stable condition, this remains a challenging time for his loved ones, and his family call on the public to keep him in their thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult period,” it added.
