Cape Town — The 2023 Rugby World Cup is less than a month away and rugby fans are excited for the Springboks to defend their crown, none more so than Rachel Kolisi.
Rachel, wife of Springbok captain Siya Kolisi, took to her Instagram page and posted pictures of Siya being called up to the squad, as well as a video of him in hospital doing rehab exercises following his knee surgery in April.
Rachel wrote a message of congratulations to Siya and wished the team well as they prepare for the World Cup, also saying a special prayer to the coaches players and refs ahead of the big tournament.
“106 days ago @siyakolisi had a massive knee surgery, today he’s leaving with the Boks ready to play in the World Cup. A miracle. Praying for this team, management, coaches and all the refs! Continuing to believe for miracles in this journey! Thank you Jesus – LETS GO!”

The Springboks are currently in the midst of their warm-up games before their World Cup opener against Scotland on 10 September. The 33-man squad for the world cup was announced last week, with Siya included despite fears he would not be ready after his knee surgery.
Flyhalf Handre Pollard, Centre Lukhanyo Am (knee injury) and lock Lood de Jager (chest illness) were the notable absentees for the September 8-October 28 global showpiece event.
