Cape Town — The Springboks had the entire country on the edge of their seats during their epic Rugby World Cup quarter-final victory over hosts France.
During Sunday’s incredibly nail-biting game, Mzansi breathed a sigh of relief as South Africa edged France 29-28 in what has been the game of the tournament so far.
Among those most relieved was Rachel Kolisi, and her latest Instagram post summed up the relief the entire country felt after the game ended.
She shared a photo with Siya, their two kids – Nicholas (9) and Keziah (6), media personality Lesego Thlabi and what appears to be some friends.
“😭❤️🇿🇦 Thank you Jesus,” she wrote in the caption.

Following the victory, Springboks captain Siya Kolisi, had high praise for the French team after the match. In the immediate post-match interview, he praised their efforts in the game and the support in the stadium and he showed the same energy towards the team in the press conference later on.
“The way both team played outshines anything out there. The atmosphere was amazing and I think it was a perfect stage for everything with a strong French team they’ve been building for four years. We knew it was going to take something special for us to win this game and because they are so good,” he said.
“And for their leader to be injured and do everything he can to come back for a game like this. We give all credit to them and the French people who made this world cup so special,” he continued.
The Springboks will now face old foes England in the semi-finals, in a repeat of the 2019 World Cup finals, where the Springboks emerged victorious.
