Cape Town – Rachel Kolisi has reached out to her fans and followers, requesting prayers for her husband Siya Kolisi after he was confirmed to have suffered a serious knee injury.
According to reports from IOL, Kolisi suffered a partial tear to his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) during the final home game of the United Rugby Challenge (URC). The injury put his World Cup hopes in serious doubt.
In the wake of Siya’s injury news, his wife Rachel took to her Instagram account to ask for prayers in support of Siya.
“Hey friends! Believing for a miracle. Would really appreciate if you could take a minute out your day to pray with us! I’ve seen God do it before and believe he will do it again. “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”
James 1:2, 4 NLT,” she said.

Kolisi was advised by two specialists and was told that should he undergo surgery, he would face a spell on the sidelines of up to nine months and would definitely miss the Rugby Championship and the World Cup meaning his 2023 rugby season would be over.
If he opts not to go for surgery, it will take the injury to his meniscus up to four months to heal, meaning he will be touch-and-go for the Boks in their quest to defend the Webb Ellis Cup.
