Cape Town – Controversial exotic dancer Zodwa Wabantu took to Instagram last week to get candid and real about her spirituality.
Zodwa, who has been open about her ancestral journey on social media, said that people should “protect” their souls.
“Some parts of your life, your soul, your energy is for you keep to yourself. Know who you are when you are alone. Because all these people come to take from you. Don’t tell me about money and material,” said Zodwa.
In the short video clip that she shared, she is clad in a pink T-shirt and sitting on an outdoor swinging chair.

“Ungavumi Ngawe (Be selfish with yourself and keep to yourself). People want to live, they take energy. They take your wisdom and you will be left empty and naked without knowing yourself. Don’t be available to all these places. Protect your soul,” she said.

Recently, Zodwa shared a photo on her social pages where she could be seen draped in a white sheet and kneeling in front of burning incense and candles, while two males standing behind her were holding a live white chicken on top of her shoulders. A third male in the picture could be seen stirring something in a bucket in front of her.
“I am currently in the process of accepting my ancestors. But I was advised not to rush myself…everything will be revealed to me at the right time,” Drum quoted the dancer as saying.
She told IOL that she was embarking on a special spiritual journey but she was not a sangoma nor was she set to become one.
“I have recently accepted a calling but this is a different kind of ubizo (calling). I’m not a sangoma.
“I’m not going to an initiation school for sangomas. I am Inkosazana ya Manzi,” she said, according to the report.
Zodwa will be baring her soul in her upcoming reality TV show Zodwa Wa Bantu Uncensored on Moja Love which has just been renewed for season 3.
