Cape Town -House music DJ and businessman DJ Tira has taken to the Twitter streets in the wake of the state of the nation address (SONA) to ask President Cyril Ramaphosa to “open up the country”.
Tira’s call for the president to lessen the lockdown restrictions comes after growing calls from many entertainment industry artists and professionals who feel that the lockdown regulations are stifling their careers and putting away bread from their family’s mouths.

“When is the country going to be open because us, as event organisers, we are only limited to hosting 2 000 people,” DJ Tira tweeted.

The House music DJ feels that the president should open up the country “a little bit more to 5 000 or 10 000 people” for outdoor events, so that “we can generate more revenue and everybody can eat”.
“Please, please do something. We are dying of hunger,” he said.
Tira is the organiser of the lifestyle “Fact Durban Rocks” picnic event that gives opportunities to Durban’s finest young upcoming artists to perform and gain exposure in the entertainment industry.
“We are used to hosting like 20 000 people, 15 000 people. Please do something. It’s a cry,” he said.

Why should we sympathize with celebs, because they are the first to fly the ANC flag during election campaigns

Unite as artists. Kopano ke maatla. Lone voice has never been effective. CIC Malema has opened the channels for you. Engage EFF and draft your way forward.
