Cape Town – Afrikaans singer Steve Hofmeyr has praised his daughter Romy-lee for her “bravery” during a dental procedure this week.
Steve took to Facebook to share photos of his daughter lying in a hospital bed following two procedures.
“With Romy-Lee’s dental procedures, dad and mom were the most traumatized by far. Our little one was so brave throughout. I was in for the anesthesia but she never once complained or cried. Just stretched out her hand and glued it to daddy’s thumb,” Steve wrote in a Facebook post.
He admitted that, unlike his daughter, he was more afraid of the dentist “than the devil in the children’s bible” when he was her age.
“As a child, I was more afraid of dentists than the devil in the Children’s Bible. Later it gets better…,” wrote Hofmeyr in a Facebook post.

Steve revealed that load shedding occurred during his daughter’s procedure. However, everything went smoothly, thanks to the highly professional medical team that was caring for his daughter.
“Must say, a highly professional medical team makes a big difference – given load power that kicked in halfway through. I’m thinking of Lamentations 2:19 and ten other versions. But toddlers have resilience,” Steve wrote in a Facebook post.
On Monday, Steve also had a dental procedure.
“I myself lost an implant on Monday. Luckily painless,” Steve wrote on Facebook.
