Cape Town — South African actress Nomzamo Mbatha, presented an award at this year’s edition of the Earthshot Prize ceremony, taking place in Singapore.
The Earthshot Prize is an annual award that is given to five remarkable humans across the globe. The Earthshot Prize recognises activists who have contributed to environmentalism and sustainable development and has been running since 2021, The South African reported.
Nomzamo was chosen to present the award for her work as a humanitarian. She has worked closely with the UN to impact African lives, and in 2019 was named as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador.

Nomzamo Mbatha was chosen as a presenter for this year’s African recipient. Multichoice Group, which has partnered with Earthshot globally, proudly announced her involvement at this year’s ceremony.
“An honourable mention to the incredible Nomzamo Mbatha, who will be shining on the global stage at the Earthshot Prize award ceremony! Her dedication to a sustainable future is an inspiration to us all. Let’s celebrate her impact on our planet!” they wrote in a noe-deleted X post.
