Cape Town – South African media personalities, Bonang Matheba and Nomzamo Mbatha were part of the list of celebrities who made appearances at the 24-hour Global Citizen virtual concert, on September 25.
The concert was broadcast live around the world, with presenters stationed in multiple locations, including iconic places such as Lagos, New York, Paris, Rio, Mumbai, London to name just a few.
According to Channel24, the concert’s focus for this year was to raise awareness on climate change, vaccine equality, and famine.

“The dedication and commitment from Global Citizen to consistently and continually raise the bar when it comes to calling on world leaders and ordinary citizens to take action is remarkable! We will continue to fight for the eradication of extreme poverty, vaccine equity and climate change. The concert is also live from all parts and corners of the globe, which means this is one of its kind and is bound to be groundbreaking in every sense!! Action is commitment,” Mbatha was quoted as saying.
A report by The South African said Matheba was styled by American stylist Harrison Thomas Crite.

She wore a lime green piece by American fashion designer LaQuan Smith who received high praise at New York Fashion Week earlier this month, the report said.
Nomzamo, on the other hand, stepped out in a Willet Designs Couture piece. She wore black leather pants and draped corset with a cape jacket.
Nigerian TV personalities Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and Nancy Isime presented from the Lagos arm of the event along with a performance by Tiwa Savage.
Sho Madjozi also joined the lineup and brought an energy filled performance from Johannesburg.
