Cape Town – The eagerly anticipated Valentine’s Day date between actress Pearl Thusi and social media influencer Micheal “Mr Smeg” Bucwa has been cancelled.
Much to the disappointment of their fans who were enthusisatic about the pair making it to dinner, Pearl announced before the big day, that she has bad news to share.
Her followers soon predicted what was coming, to which Pearl confirmed their predictions that indeed she is cancelling the date between her and the influencer – due to a work-related week-long business trip.

“So I’m travelling for work tomorrow for a week… how should I make it up to him ?” she said in a tweet.

Mr Smeg subsequently tweeted to his followers that the date has indeed been cancelled.
“The Valentine’s date has been cancelled,” he wrote.

This comes after the pair went on a date together, recently, after the influencer dared the actress on social media and asked her out.

Pearl toyed with the idea and gave it a go, arousing excitement from her legion of fans.
Tweeps have reacted to the Valentine’s Day date cancellation with dismay.
Micheal gained popularity on Twitter and subsequently became a social media influencer for always uploading his pictures with appliances from the premium Italian brand “Smeg”, hence he gained the nickname “Mr smeg”.
