Cape Town – Outspoken spokesperson for the minister of sports, arts and culture, Masechaba Khumalo has ventured into a different realm in the entertainment industry – music.
According to Drum, Masechaba had been a consistent radio broadcaster for many years before she was made the official spokesperson for minister Nathi Mthethwa.
She said the single track she recently released, Vela, is about “conversations with God”.

“The song is a conversation with God, and it was not planned. I didn’t go into the studio with a plan. I didn’t know what direction I wanted to take in the music industry. On the day I recorded the song I was not in the right state emotionally and spiritually and what came out of that moment was spirit led and it was a freestyle,” the report quoted Masechaba as saying.
She took to Instagram to announce to her followers that they shouldn’t allow people or circumstances to keep them from living their dreams.
“Now is the season to reclaim your whole authentic self. It’s now or never. Don’t allow people, circumstances, time or fear keep you from living the life of dreams. I launched my brand new single Vela last night,” she wrote.
