Cape Town – American streaming service platform, Netflix, will debut on April 7, a documentary series about the murder of the critically-acclaimed professional soccer star, Senzo Meyiwa.
Senzo was shot dead in 2014 at his then girlfriend Kelly Khumalo’s mother’s house after a “botched robbery gone wrong” in Vosloorus, Johannesburg.
According to SundayWorld, five men who were allegedly implicated in the criminal act, were captured by the police last year after much public outcry and their trial is set to resume on April 11.

TimesLive reports that Senzo: Murder of a soccer star is a five-part true-crime documentary that will shed light on the events leading up to that fateful night the much-loved soccer star was gunned down.
According to The Citizen, the spine-chilling documentary series “will feature exclusive interviews with sports broadcaster Robert Marawa, former Hawks head Shadrack Sibiya, as well as Advocate Gerrie Nel and Meyiwa’s family members, who all provide an intimate look at both the life and death of the Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates captain”.
Netflix took to its social media platforms to break the news to its viewers.
“Once a legend, always a legend, A Netflix Documentary Series Senzo: Murder of a Soccer Star premieres 7 April, only on Netflix,” wrote the streaming service on Twitter.
The fallen soccer star shares an eight-year-old daughter with Kelly.

I can’t wait to watch this. I hope Senzo’s spirit haunts all those who won’t tell the truth about his death. When they open cupboards they must see his face. When they are pooping and reach for the toilet paper they must see his face. They must never find peace
