Cape Town — Faith Nketsi’s troubled husband Nzuzo Njilo has some cause for celebration as one fraud case against the controversial businessman has been dropped.
In April, Njilo was facing a charge of fraud after it was alleged that he failed to pay outstanding debts of close to R1 million to two men, Blaine Evans and James Stephens. The pair alleged that they paid Njilo for copper concentrate, which he never delivered last August.
According to City Press, one of two charges against him was withdrawn on Monday at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court, which was confirmed by Njilo’s lawyer.
“We did legal representations for the withdrawal of the case based on the merits of the case. The representations were considered and successful. I, unfortunately, can’t disclose the contents of the legal representations,” said Njilo’s lawyer, Ofentse Nkgwang.

Njilo is not completely in the clear. he still has an ongoing fraud case in Kwa-Zulu Natal, where he and his co-accused, Kwanda Ntshangase, are expected to appear in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’sCourt on June 20.
Njilo was granted R30 000 in bail while Ntshangase was granted R3 000 bail during their first court appearance together last month.
According to The South African, a police official close to the investigation said they had a water-tight case against the accused.
“Hence the accused also have to report to their local police stations when they wish to leave the province, as part of their bail conditions,” the source said.
