Cape Town — South African gospel singer, Ntokozo Mbambo, is beaming with pride following her wins at the South African Music Awards (SAMAs).
Ntokozo was one of the biggest winners on the night as she won three awards for Female Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best Contemporary Faith Album.
Her victory was mired with Kelly Khumalo’s social media rant, complaining that Ntokozo was not the deserving winner, and that she should have won the award for Female Artist of the Year, claiming the votes were rigged and pre-determined.
However, Ntokozo is keeping her head high and she thanked God for her blessings and her victory, completely ignoring Kelly’s rant.
“I don’t know if I was nervous but I was very happy and at peace. I had low expectations which is very weird because we teach people to have faith. But I was very chilled and at peace but you know, God works in mysterious ways and he is faithful even when we are faithless, and that’s what happened this weekend,” she said.
“It really is amazing, because when I take a moment and look back at where I come from, my journey in the music industry and as a human being, just living, growing and experiences life, and being on the big stage in front pf thousands of people, looking back at that and seeing how good God has been,” she concluded.
