Cape Town – Critically-acclaimed artist Nomcebo Zikode took to Instagram recently to announce that she and Nigerian media executive Timothy Kublenu Akeju have been appointed as goodwill ambassadors by the African Renaissance and Diaspora Network (ARDN).
According to DailySun, the duo is part of the red card campaign which uses sports and culture to achieve gender equality and the empowerment of women.
“Exciting news in my career African Renaissance and Diaspora network appoints Nomcebo Zikode and Akeju as ambassadors, I’m ready to do humanitarian work for the world,” said Nomcebo.

In a statement, the African Renaissance and Diaspora Network, said that it was honoured to welcome the duo.
“We are honoured to welcome Nomcebo Zikode and Akeju to ARDN , to further strengthen our efforts in this regard, especially since they both so dramatically epitomise the notion of African Renaissance while, while at the same time, inspiring those of the diaspora.
“We’ve got to fight the Apartheid of Gender as forcefully as we fought Apartheid in South Africa. We aim to see a world where everyone is cherished, regardless of gender, culture, colour, language, social origin, birth, property or religion,” read the statement.
