Cape Town – In what promises to be sizzling top-tier entertainment for viewers, streaming service Netflix will debut a reality TV show on March 18 about young, rich and famous African stars.
The reality TV show will feature the who’s who of the African continent, including self-proclaimed “queen of bling” South African actress Khanyi Mbau, rapper Nadia Nakai, TV presenter Andile Ncube, Metro FM’s Naked DJ, Ugandan Zari the Boss Lady, Diamond Platnumz, Annie Macaulay-Idibia, 2Baba,Swanky Jerry and Kayleigh Schwark.
They all will be part of what promises to be sensational entertainment laced with controversy and heightened drama.

“Young, Famous & African presents an Africa that is vibrant, beautiful, glossy and sexy to the world, and we are super proud and excited for the world to see it,” said co-creator and executive producer Peace Hyde as quoted by Channel24.
Asare Amankwa is also part of the executive team. She said that growing up in the United Kingdom, there were no glitzy and sexy images of Africa – all that people saw were the stereotypical images that had been propelled in the media for years.

She said that the upcoming reality show will change that perceived narrative.
“’Young, Famous & African’ is a depiction of a world that has never been seen before, highlighting authentic stories and unrivalled access to some of the most celebrated celebrities,” she said as quoted by IOL.
According to Pulse the reality show consists of seven episodes that are set in Johannesburg, South Africa, following the glamorous lives of African celebrities from Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania and South Africa.
Young, Famous & African will be available globally to over 214 million subscribers on Netflix in over 190 countries on March 18.
